Description
Flexible Funds are administered by Freie Universität Berlin’s Division of International Affairs to establish research and teaching projects with international partners. The program advances the university’s International Strategy through new bilateral and multilateral contacts, including collaborations with strategic partners and the Una Europa network. It supports seed funding for international research and teaching, including Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), and projects improving international services.
Supported activities include short-term stays abroad to initiate or expand research and teaching partnerships, visits by international guests involved in long-term research partnerships, and collaborative research initiatives within or across departments. The program also provides supplementary support for international conferences held at Freie Universität Berlin and financed primarily through third-party funding.
