The Flint Women and Girls Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, supports the advancement and full participation of women and girls in society. Established in 1985 through contributions from local women, it benefits women and girls in Flint and Genesee County by addressing barriers to economic, educational, physical, emotional, social, artistic, and personal growth.
The fund supports policy and system change on issues affecting women and girls, programs that encourage economic self-sufficiency for women and women’s organizations, and organizations that expand available choices. It gives high priority to organizations where women are the primary decision makers. Supported work has included educational mentorship, training and basic-needs assistance, tools to address unhealthy decision-making, and opportunities for girls and female caregivers to explore STEM and other non-traditional careers.
