Description
Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) is an annual, non-disaster mitigation grant listed by the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA). It helps states, local governments, and tribal governments reduce or eliminate long-term flood risk to buildings, manufactured homes, and other structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program.
DEMA’s Mitigation Branch administers Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants in Arizona. FMA projects are reviewed and awarded nationally, with annual awards subject to the federal budget. DEMA runs a state Notice of Intent process before developing and submitting complete applications to FEMA.
