Description
The Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Program, administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) in partnership with FEMA, provides funding to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings and structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The program supports a broad range of mitigation activities, including property acquisition, structure elevation, mitigation reconstruction, floodproofing, flood control projects, infrastructure retrofits, soil stabilization, and community flood mitigation planning. Emphasis is placed on projects that are technically feasible, cost-effective, use flood-resistant construction methods, and directly benefit NFIP-participating communities.
