Description
Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia (YCF) supports basic needs and addiction prevention through its Community Grants program. Basic-needs funding supports housing, utilities, home repairs, transportation, and food delivery for individuals in Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor counties.
Addiction-prevention funding supports education and professional support at the grassroots level to lessen the destructive impact of alcohol and drug addiction on children and their families. The program emphasizes cooperative, creative projects and programs rather than capital expenditures. It encourages collaboration among nonprofit agencies, prevention coalitions, public bodies, civic groups, and religious organizations, with preference for communities demonstrating high need and low resources.
