Description
The Focused Investigator Training (FIT) Program, administered by the ACCP Foundation, is an intensive, five-day, hands-on experience for experienced pharmacist investigators preparing to submit or resubmit an investigator-initiated research grant or career development application. It focuses on improving the competitiveness of K, R01, or similar proposals to the National Institutes of Health or another major funding source.
Participants examine their research aims and professional goals through proposal critiques, group sessions, lectures, discussions, and individual faculty mentoring. Supported research areas include clinical, basic, translational, health services, outcomes-based, and behavioral science. The program aims to help investigators refine applications in ways study section reviewers expect. The 2027 program takes place at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
