Fondy 100 Gives is a program of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation that brings together 100 individuals to support community projects collectively. It aims to broaden local participation in giving, complementing the businesses, individuals, and foundations frequently asked to fund community work. Alongside grants for immediate needs, the program builds an endowment for future community projects.
Project selection is member-driven. At meetings, members hear presentations about three projects from local nonprofit representatives, ask questions, and vote anonymously for the project they most want to support. The project receiving the most votes is selected for funding. This approach connects community members directly with local nonprofit work while giving them a role in choosing projects with an immediate, positive local impact.
