This program funds joint research projects between U.S. and Israeli investigators, in partnership with an Israeli company, to develop innovative food and nutrition technologies. The goal is to improve food and nutrition, increase food variety and availability, and promote healthy consumption. Projects must be collaborative, involving consortia from authorized research centers in both countries. Intellectual property generated must be owned by the investigators’ institutions, and the Israeli group must comply with Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) guidelines. The program emphasizes binational partnerships and aims to advance food and nutrition science with a translational or applied focus.
