Description
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) presents the Local Society Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize members whose long-term dedication helps keep its Local Societies vibrant. The award honors the time and expertise contributed across multiple Society responsibilities, including serving as officers and participating in Society activities.
The focus is sustained service to a Local Society rather than a particular research project. By recognizing this work, the AIA highlights the members who sustain the local organizations that carry out its mission, including public outreach. Before 2026, the award was known as the Foot Soldier.
