    Description

Forecast Public Art administers this grant with support from the Jerome Foundation. It funds early-career artists’ public art research and development or the planning phase of freely accessible installations and activities in Minnesota. Supported activities include research, planning, community dialogues, site and budget development, model building, and developing proposals for public or nonprofit agencies.

The program supports artistic development, innovation, deepened practice, and new growth, alongside community benefits such as enjoyment, beautification, civic engagement, meeting a need, or meaningful collaboration. Artists bring their own ideas rather than responding to a predetermined site or theme. Forecast defines public art broadly, including temporary and permanent installations, murals, sculpture, performances, storytelling, sound and light projects, dance, and spoken word.
