Description
The Forest Legacy Program (FLP), administered by the Idaho Department of Lands (IDL), is a voluntary initiative aimed at helping Idaho landowners conserve their working forestlands. The program provides financial incentives for landowners to protect forests from conversion to non-forest uses while maintaining ownership, management rights, and timber production. Through the use of perpetual conservation easements, FLP supports the long-term viability of Idaho's timber industry, protects wildlife habitats, maintains water quality, and enhances recreational opportunities. Projects are prioritized within Idaho’s designated Priority Landscape Areas, as defined by the Idaho Forest Action Plan.
