    Description

ForestPathways is the first Joint Call of the FOREST European Partnership, supported by the European Commission and bringing together 36 research funding organisations from 27 countries. It supports transnational work spanning fundamental research, applied research and, where appropriate, demonstration activities. Projects should generate knowledge and practical solutions that can be implemented in policy, forest management or industry, recognising the diversity of forests and forest-based activities.

The call has four topics: climate-resilient forest systems; adaptive and multifunctional forest management; timber and innovative wood-based products; and forest value chains, markets and governance. Together, these address ecosystem resilience, multiple ecosystem services, alternatives to fossil-based and carbon-intensive materials, and a sustainable circular forest-based bioeconomy. Cross-cutting proposals are encouraged where relevant, but each proposal must select one primary topic for evaluation and ranking.
