Description
Formas runs this call within Sweden’s national research programme for food. It supports practical innovation projects that develop and test science-based products, services, processes or methods for more sustainable and resilient food supply chains. The call responds to environmental and climate impacts, resource use, vulnerable value chains, weakened profitability and low self-sufficiency.
Projects should address specific needs and help the food system manage disruptions, reduce losses and sustain the production, processing and distribution of food. Potential approaches include removing bottlenecks in processing or storage, coordinating regional freight, strengthening local processing and using residual flows. Formas seeks innovations that advance the green transition, food security and competitiveness, with benefits beyond the two project partners.
