Description
Jointly sponsored by AAOGF and the Foundation for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, this scholarship develops promising physicians committed to investigative academic careers in Obstetrics and Gynecology. It supports research training through an academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United States or Canada, with research focused on maternal-fetal medicine or pregnancy-related obstetrics.
Directed by the Foundation for SMFM Scholarly Activities Committee, the program combines an approved research project, structured scientific training, and faculty mentoring. Supported fields include basic and translational research, disease pathogenesis, clinical diagnostics, interventions and prevention, epidemiology, and health services research. Review emphasizes research quality and originality, including projects that take a mentor’s area of interest in a significant new direction.
