Fourth Generation is a collective giving program of the Minneapolis Foundation that supports local organizations while giving rising leaders hands-on experience in philanthropy. Its 2026–2027 grantmaking cycle focuses on mental health and efforts across the Twin Cities to foster well-being and connection. The program supports nonprofits breaking down barriers to care, reducing stigma, and helping people access support that honors their experiences and identities.
Members learn from community voices and experts, examine barriers that sustain inequities, and pool their contributions, resources, and perspectives to make grants. Through this approach, Fourth Generation invests in the relationships, resources, and systems that help communities thrive while working toward an accessible and equitable grantmaking process.
