    Description

The Franco-German Cultural Fund is designed to promote and support cultural cooperation initiatives led by French and German diplomatic and cultural networks operating in third countries (outside France and Germany). The fund encourages joint projects across a wide spectrum of artistic and intellectual disciplines, including architecture, visual arts, cinema, digital creation, debating ideas, literature, crafts, design, performing arts, and music. The core aim is to foster dialogue, innovation, and cross-cultural understanding by supporting initiatives that address contemporary issues and promote shared Franco-German values through culture.

Each funding cycle may have a specific thematic focus; for the most recent cycle, the theme was "the fight against disinformation and the role of culture in imagining contemporary responses." Projects must demonstrate collaboration between French and German networks and are encouraged to involve local partners and contribute to lasting cultural impact in the host country.
