--- ## Description The American Philosophical Society's Franklin Research Grants program provides modest funding to scholars to help cover the costs of research leading to publication. The program is especially intended to assist with expenses such as travel to libraries and archives, fieldwork, laboratory research, and acquisition of research materials (e.g., microfilm, photocopies). Funding is not provided for conference travel, publication costs, salary replacement, living expenses at home, consultants, research assistants, or permanent equipment.
