    Description

The Fraunhofer International Mobility Award (FIM), offered by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, supports employees undertaking research collaborations in Canada for two to five and a half months. It connects any Fraunhofer research institute in Germany with Mitacs full and associate partner institutions in Canada. Employees in research, engineering, administration, and management can participate at all career levels, and all research sectors are eligible.

FIM is linked to the Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA), which supports international research internships under joint home and host professor supervision. After FIM approval, associated GRA funding can support intern mobility connected to the project. GRA funding can also support collaborations between Canadian universities and Fraunhofer institutes outside FIM through the standard Canadian-university application process.
