Description
The Freeman Foote Field Trip Fund is a Williams College internal funding program supporting faculty-student field trips tied directly to science course goals. It gives preference to Geosciences and to extended trips involving significant travel that are well integrated with the course schedule and meaningfully enhance course content. Shorter trips may receive support as a secondary priority. Trips may take place during fall or spring semesters, winter study, or spring break.
Dr. Joseph Lintz ’42 established the fund in 2007 in honor of his 65th reunion. It recognizes Professor Freeman Foote, who taught at Williams from 1937 to 1974 and inspired students through his research on mountain ranges and dedication to field-based teaching.
