Key Information: U.S. citizenship and a terminal degree are required; French residents and permanent residents are ineligible.
Description
This Fulbright Scholar research award supports a project of the applicant’s choosing in the humanities or social and political sciences, conducted with colleagues at French research centers or higher education institutions. Applicants may propose an appropriate host in metropolitan France or France’s overseas regions and territories. The Franco-American Fulbright Commission supports the exchange in France.
The award welcomes recent PhDs and established scholars, as well as applicants from the private sector. Research may include archival, field, qualitative, quantitative, or practice-based artistic work. Alongside advancing knowledge, the program seeks to strengthen relationships between people in the United States and other countries. Scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with their host communities.
