Description
The New Jersey Wetlands Mitigation Council, administered through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), seeks conceptual proposals for wetland mitigation projects in the Atlantic Region. Projects must create, restore, or enhance wetlands dominated by tidal wetlands and include intertidal-subtidal shallows components. The program draws on the Wetlands Mitigation Fund through New Jersey’s In Lieu Fee (ILF) Program.
The ILF Program produces compensatory mitigation credits for unavoidable impacts to regulated waters and wetlands. This solicitation seeks at least 1.29 credits to compensate for 1.29 acres of impacts. Eligible work includes project design, permitting, construction, and monitoring. The Council considers regulatory compliance, available funding, and acceptable mitigation, with competing projects assessed for credits generated relative to cost, partner support, and overall benefits to the project areas.
