Description
Jointly funded by Aalto University and the Fulbright Finland Foundation, this Distinguished Chair supports research and teaching visits to Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. Active research is the emphasis, but teaching is also expected. The program encourages joint research and publications with Finnish colleagues, mentoring master’s and doctoral students, and building academic links throughout Finland.
Projects should align with Aalto’s interdisciplinary themes: ICT and digitalization, global business dynamics, materials and sustainable use of natural resources, arts and design knowledge building, human-centred living environments, health and wellbeing, or advanced energy solutions. For the described 2027–2028 award, hosts are the Schools of Business, Chemical Engineering (exclusively the BioInnovation Center), Electrical Engineering, and Engineering. The appointment also advances Fulbright’s goals of knowledge exchange, international cooperation, and mutual understanding.
