Description
Jointly funded by Aalto University and the Fulbright Finland Foundation, this Distinguished Chair award supports research and teaching visits to Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. Active research is emphasized, but teaching is also expected. Participating hosts are the Schools of Business, Chemical Engineering (specifically the BioInnovation Center), Electrical Engineering, and Engineering.
The program encourages research collaboration, joint publications with Finnish colleagues, and mentoring of master’s and doctoral students. Scholars may also contribute to faculty, curriculum, and program development, build connections throughout Finland, and give guest lectures at other universities. Projects should align with Aalto’s interdisciplinary research themes and advance Fulbright’s goals of international understanding and cooperation. Candidates should have a prominent record of scholarly accomplishment and be prepared to engage with the host community as U.S. cultural ambassadors.
