Description
This Fulbright Scholar Program research award supports collaboration with the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the coordinating institution in Algés, Lisbon. Its focus is marine species dynamics modelling within a multispecies framework incorporating environmental indicators. Interdisciplinary projects receive preference. Research must interest both the scholar and host, and may connect IPMA with the scholar’s U.S. institution or involve other Portuguese institutions.
The scholar provides scientific consultancy to define research strategies, improve ongoing projects, and initiate new research directions. Required activities include student advising or mentoring and assistance with faculty, curriculum, or program development. Alongside research, the exchange seeks to advance international understanding, community engagement, and lasting collaboration between Portugal and the United States.
