This opportunity supports U.S. scholars, professionals, and artists to undertake a four-month research or professional project at the Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre) in Portugal. Projects should align with AIR Centre’s mission—advancing earth and ocean observation, marine resources and biodiversity, digital ocean twins, and space applications—while fostering innovation in multinational, transatlantic collaboration, especially within the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance. The award emphasizes stakeholder engagement, development of research agendas, and the promotion of new services, products, or business opportunities. Grantees are also expected to engage with the host community through public talks, mentoring, and collaborative activities.
The AIR Centre is based in Lisbon and Terceira Island (Azores), with activities centered at both sites. The host provides office space, lab and computer facilities, and logistical support.
