Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program, working with the US-UK Fulbright Commission, offers one six-month award at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. The award supports research of the scholar’s choosing alongside classroom teaching. Scholars may mentor students, assist with faculty and curriculum development, and offer workshops, lectures, seminars, public readings, performances, or presentations of work in progress.
HLSCC is a two-year institution offering associate degrees and workforce certifications. Applications are welcomed across appropriate disciplines, particularly business management and entrepreneurship, computer sciences, culinary and hospitality studies, disaster management, humanities and literature, marine science and maritime studies, natural sciences, teacher education, and fine arts. The exchange promotes international understanding through academic collaboration and engagement with the host community.
