Description
This Fulbright Scholar award supports mathematical research or combined teaching and research at Budapest Semesters in Mathematics and the HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics in Hungary. Scholars may pursue a project of their own choosing or participate in institute research. Typical areas include combinatorics, combinatorial optimization, number theory, mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence and network theory, algebraic geometry, and topology.
Scholars undertaking teaching/research give colloquium lectures and meet regularly with Budapest Semesters in Mathematics students. Their advising helps students understand research mathematics and the training of research mathematicians. The award also advances Fulbright’s goal of strengthening relationships between people in the United States and other nations through international understanding and cooperation.
