The Fulbright Canada Research Chair Awards provide exceptional Canadian scholars and experienced professionals with the opportunity to conduct research, lecture, and participate in academic life at select U.S. partner universities. These awards are designed to foster academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and community engagement between Canadian scholars and U.S. institutions. Recipients are expected to mentor students, guest lecture, participate in public events, and become active members of the host campus community, representing both the Fulbright program and their home and host universities.
Research Chairs are available in a wide range of disciplines and fields, including—but not limited to—Indigenous issues, Arctic studies, humanities, social sciences, public health, engineering, sciences, and multidisciplinary research. Each Chair position is hosted by a specific U.S. university and may have its own thematic or disciplinary focus.
