Description
The Fulbright Chile Postdoctoral Awards support advanced research through formal partnerships between Fulbright Chile and selected Chilean research institutions. Scholars conduct independent projects in close collaboration with host researchers, with access to specialized infrastructure and institutional resources. The program seeks to strengthen long-term U.S.–Chile scientific collaboration and develop joint projects addressing shared scientific priorities and globally relevant challenges.
The two hosts are Instituto Nacional del Litio y Salares (INLiSa), in northern Chile’s Antofagasta Region, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile). INLiSa welcomes research related to lithium, critical minerals, energy storage, materials, geosciences, sustainability, and policy. UC Chile hosts work across natural and exact sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary proposals are strongly encouraged.
