The Fulbright Schuman Program offers approximately 10–15 scholarships for study, research, and lecturing in the United States. It is open across academic fields, with a defining emphasis on EU affairs and policy, EU institutions, and the U.S.-EU transatlantic agenda. Awards support doctoral research, post-doctoral research and lecturing, and international education professionals researching international higher education or sharing best practices through a comparative U.S.-EU perspective.
The program is administered by the Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States of America, Belgium and Luxembourg (Fulbright Belgium), not Fulbright Denmark. It is jointly financed by the U.S. Department of State and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. Alongside academic work, the program promotes mutual understanding through cultural exchange and seeks grantees who will share their knowledge and experiences in Europe after returning.
