The Fulbright Specialist Program enables Danish host institutions to collaborate with highly qualified U.S. academics and established professionals on projects of shared interest. Established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the program is administered in Denmark by Fulbright Denmark, with World Learning supporting specialist recruitment and exchange arrangements.
Projects span more than 20 eligible disciplines, including education, business, law, environmental science, journalism, and public health. Activities may include seminars and workshops, faculty or workforce development, curriculum and training-material development, undergraduate or graduate co-lecturing, and institutional needs assessments or evaluations. Short-term, year-round exchanges address specific challenges and knowledge gaps while bringing global perspectives to Danish institutions and building relationships that may lead to longer-term alliances.
