Description
The Fulbright Distinguished Arctic Scholar Award supports a combination of research and teaching at Norwegian institutions of higher education or research. Offered through the Fulbright Scholar Program and the U.S.-Norway Fulbright Foundation, it seeks projects that deepen understanding of the Arctic and High North. All disciplines are welcome, including the social sciences and humanities alongside the natural sciences.
The scholar undertakes a research project of their choosing while engaging with faculty within and beyond the host institution. Expected activities include public lectures, seminars, and supervision and mentoring of master’s and doctoral candidates in research and writing. Activities are agreed with the host. The award also advances Fulbright’s wider mission of strengthening relationships between the United States and other countries through academic exchange and engagement with host communities.
