This award enables an outstanding U.S. researcher at the full professor level to conduct research in the Defence Science and Technology Group’s (DSTG) priority areas in Australia. The Distinguished Chair will be based at any DSTG site and will work on a specific research project over a 5–6 month term. Recipients are expected to engage DSTG personnel via lectures and seminars, foster long-term collaborations, and contribute to institutional linkages. The program’s broader goal is to strengthen the Australia–U.S. bilateral relationship through educational and cultural exchange in advanced defence science and technology.
