Description
Fulbright Australia offers this Distinguished Chair award with funding from the Australian Government Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). It enables outstanding U.S. researchers at full-professor level or equivalent to undertake a specific research project at any DSTG site in Australia over five to six months. DSTG applies science and technology to safeguard Australia and its national interests and will consider any relevant research proposal, with priority given to key defence research areas.
The Chair is expected to engage with DSTG personnel through occasional guest lectures and/or seminars and explore long-term collaborations and institutional linkages. Applications must demonstrate plans for these activities and support Fulbright’s objectives of mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchange and a stronger Australia–U.S. bilateral relationship.
