Description
The Fulbright-García Robles U.S. Studies Chair supports a five-month teaching semester at a Mexican university. Administered in Mexico by COMEXUS, the award advances knowledge of U.S. culture, society, history and politics while strengthening collaboration between U.S. and Mexican scholars. Five recipients are supported, with placement matched to the scholar’s project and participating universities’ needs.
Scholars teach up to three undergraduate or graduate courses in English and mentor Mexican students. Graduate student advising may replace one course. Projects may span disciplines related to U.S. studies, including government, foreign policy, economics, literature, geography, social movements and U.S.-Mexico relations. Beyond classroom teaching, scholars may be asked to give public talks and engage with host communities to promote international understanding and cooperation.
