Description
Funded by the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs through the Fulbright Scholar Program, this award supports one scholar for approximately one semester at Icelandic universities. The scholar teaches undergraduate and/or graduate courses on topics chosen collaboratively with the host. Activities may also include student research advising and curriculum development. The schedule allows independent research alongside teaching, but research is not required.
Projects across disciplines are welcome if they have significance for the Arctic or High North, even when the applicant’s broader work is not exclusively Arctic-focused. The exchange aims to strengthen U.S.–Icelandic relationships and international understanding through academic collaboration and community engagement. Scholars may give public talks, mentor students, and participate in appropriate Ministry-sponsored events.
