This award enables a U.S. scholar to spend four months at Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg, Austria, engaging in a flexible combination of teaching and research in the medical and life sciences. The scholar will teach at least two class sessions per week (90 minutes each) to bachelor, master, and Ph.D. students, and may also advise or supervise advanced students, develop collaborative research projects, and publish jointly with PMU faculty. The specific content and format of courses and research objectives are determined collaboratively with the host institution, based on its needs and the grantee’s expertise.
PMU is recognized for its strong research in areas such as experimental ophthalmology, molecular therapies, regenerative medicine, public health, and more. This award aims to foster international academic collaboration and strengthen U.S.–Austria ties in health and life sciences.
