Description
Jointly funded by the Fulbright Finland Foundation, Saastamoinen Foundation, and University of Eastern Finland (UEF), this award supports 5–9-month teaching and research visits at UEF’s Joensuu and Kuopio campuses. It promotes international academic collaboration, strengthens educational and research links between Finland and the United States, and advances mutual understanding through academic exchange.
The program covers health and environmental sciences across UEF’s health sciences, science and forestry, and social sciences units. Preferred multidisciplinary focus areas are water research, forests and bioeconomy, and neuroscience. Scholars may teach undergraduate or graduate courses, conduct applicant-designed or host-designated research, mentor students, and assist with faculty, curriculum, or program development. Applicants are encouraged to design their activities jointly with the relevant host department, faculty, or research program.
