Description
This Fulbright Scholar award supports combined teaching and research at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), with preference for multidisciplinary projects in water research, forests and bioeconomy, and neuroscience. It is jointly funded by the Saastamoinen Foundation, UEF, and the Fulbright Finland Foundation. Approximately two scholars receive awards.
Scholars may pursue research of their own choosing or designated by the host, teach undergraduate or graduate courses, mentor students, and assist with faculty, curriculum, or program development. Activities take place within UEF’s health sciences, science and forestry, and social sciences and business studies faculties, or designated research units. Beyond academic work, the program strengthens U.S.–Finnish relationships and international understanding through public talks and engagement with the host community.
