Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program supports a scholar or professional working with KEK J.S.C. (Kosovo Energy Corporation) and KOSTT J.S.C. (Transmission System and Market Operator) in Kosovo. The award emphasizes practical operational and policy challenges rather than theoretical research. Work with KEK explores coal gasification and transition-compatible technologies, including international best practices, technical feasibility, and policy implications.
With KOSTT, the scholar helps strengthen imbalance settlement, ancillary service procurement, and flexibility resources such as battery energy storage and demand response. Activities also address cross-border balancing and regional cooperation consistent with ENTSO-E Network Codes and Energy Community obligations. Workshops, technical briefings, mentoring, strategic notes, and diagnostic reports support institutional capacity and decision-making. The preferred division is 80% professional project activities and 20% applied research and knowledge dissemination.
