Description
This Fulbright-Schuman postdoctoral award supports independent research at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. Projects may come from any discipline but must address U.S.-EU relations, EU policy, or EU institutions. Scholars affiliate with EUI’s departments of Economics, History and Civilization, Law, or Political and Social Sciences, or the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. A suitable project may instead affiliate with the Max Weber Programme.
The award is administered by the Fulbright Commission in Brussels and jointly financed by the U.S. Department of State and the European Commission. Its goal is to deepen understanding of the transatlantic relationship and promote international cooperation. EUI remains the main host, although additional research in other EU member states is possible with EUI’s agreement. Public talks, student mentoring, and host-community engagement may complement the research.
