This award enables one American postdoctoral scholar to conduct independent research at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, during the 2027–2028 academic year. The recipient will affiliate with one of EUI's departments—Economics, History and Civilization, Law, Political and Social Sciences—or the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, focusing on interdisciplinary research related to European integration. If appropriate, affiliation with the Max Weber Programme is also possible. With EUI’s agreement, research activities may extend to other EU Member States. Projects must address topics relevant to U.S.-EU relations, EU policy, or EU institutions. The program promotes transatlantic academic exchange, public engagement, and collaboration between American and European scholars.
