Description
The United States-United Kingdom Fulbright Commission’s Senior Scholar Awards enable eminent US scholars to contribute to the intellectual life of UK universities. Distinguished Chair and Visiting Professor Awards are among the Fulbright Scholar programme’s most prestigious appointments. Supported activities include seminars, public lectures, curriculum development and, at some institutions, research.
The programme connects educational exchange with international understanding and expects recipients to establish long-term links between their home and host institutions. Opportunities are available at the University of Edinburgh, Glasgow School of Art, University of Manchester and University of St Andrews. Selection values intercultural sensitivity, a desire to learn about the UK and share American culture, and plans to advance the Fulbright mission. Proposals involving community or outreach work receive preference.
