Description
The Fulbright Specialist Programme supports short-term collaborative projects that bring leading U.S. academics and professionals to UK host institutions. Established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, it enables institutions to design projects addressing their own priorities within eligible disciplines. The US-UK Fulbright Commission administers the programme in the UK.
Specialists may deliver seminars or workshops, advise on faculty or workforce development, develop academic or training curricula and materials, lecture at undergraduate or graduate level, or conduct institutional needs assessments and evaluations. The programme aims to bring global perspectives to host institutions, support work requiring a rapid response or flexible timeline, and build sustained relationships with U.S. individuals and institutions.
