Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program supports teaching and combined teaching/research at Széchenyi István University in Győr, Hungary. Scholars teach undergraduate or graduate courses and may conduct their own research or join university projects. The normal teaching load is two courses, reduced to one when research forms a substantial component. Teaching/research proposals have no preferred division of time between the two activities.
The award also supports student advising and mentoring, faculty development, and curriculum or program development. Scholars may participate in community outreach, meet Fulbright alumni, engage with the local English-speaking community, and deliver guest lectures at other Hungarian universities when invited. These activities advance Fulbright’s goal of strengthening relationships between people in the United States and other nations through international understanding and cooperation.
