This award supports a U.S. scholar to serve as a visiting professor at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Austria’s largest institution for technology and natural sciences. The position combines teaching (primarily for master’s and PhD students) and collaborative research in fields such as architecture, engineering, informatics, mathematics, physics, and technical chemistry. Responsibilities include teaching at least two 90-minute class sessions per week, mentoring students, supervising advanced research projects, and developing joint research initiatives with TU Wien faculty. The content and format of courses and research objectives are negotiated between the grantee and host based on mutual interests and institutional needs.
