Description
Funded by the University of Innsbruck and administered in Austria by Fulbright Austria, this visiting professorship combines teaching, research, student advising, and international academic collaboration. The scholar teaches at least two courses, each meeting weekly for 90 minutes. Course content and research objectives are agreed with the host institution according to its needs and the scholar’s interests and expertise. Research may be host-designated or proposed by the scholar.
The award spans humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, law, education, architecture, and engineering. It promotes mutual understanding between Austria and the United States, with emphasis on scholarly excellence, comparative approaches, bilateral relevance, and lasting institutional relationships. Scholars may also give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host community.
