Description
The Fulbright-University of Lapland Scholar Award supports research, or a combination of research and teaching, in Rovaniemi, Finland. Jointly funded by the University of Lapland and the Fulbright Finland Foundation, it welcomes projects in all disciplines. Scholars pursue work of their choosing within the faculties of Art and Design, Education, Law, or Social Sciences, or the multidisciplinary Arctic Centre.
The university combines science and art with a northern and Arctic perspective, producing knowledge intended to help life in the Arctic thrive. Alongside academic work, the award advances Fulbright’s mission of international understanding and cooperation. Scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host community. Applicants are encouraged to design their activities collaboratively with the relevant host department, faculty, or research program.
