Description
This Fulbright Scholar award supports research or combined teaching and research in any field represented at the University of Oulu in Finland. Jointly funded by the university and the Fulbright Finland Foundation, it enables scholars to pursue projects of their choosing within eight faculties, four multidisciplinary research centers, or regional units. Fields span biochemistry and molecular medicine, education and psychology, humanities, information technology and electrical engineering, medicine, science, technology, and business.
The award encourages multidisciplinary collaboration that creates scientific and societal impact and contributes to a more sustainable, intelligent, and humane world. It also advances Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships between the United States and other nations. Beyond their primary academic activities, scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host community.
