Description
Jointly funded by the University of Oulu and the Fulbright Finland Foundation, this award supports research or combined research and teaching in any field represented at Oulu. Scholars undertake a project of their choosing within the university’s eight faculties, four multidisciplinary research centres, or regional units. The program welcomes multidisciplinary expertise and collaboration that creates scientific and societal impact.
The award advances educational exchange between Finland and the United States, strengthens institutional connections, and promotes international understanding and cooperation. Alongside financial support, scholars receive work facilities, administrative assistance, orientation, and networking opportunities. Grantees also serve as cultural ambassadors and may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, or engage with the host community beyond their primary project.
