Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program supports one Distinguished Scholar at the Swedish Institute for North American Studies (SINAS), within Uppsala University’s Department of English. The award combines teaching and research in American studies. The scholar teaches an introductory undergraduate course and a specialized course for senior or graduate students, and delivers an inaugural lecture. Research may be collaborative with departmental faculty or an independent project.
The position supports SINAS’s work promoting American studies research, connecting scholars across disciplines, and arranging courses, lectures, and conferences. Listed disciplines include American studies, economics, film/cinema studies, American history and literature, international relations, media studies, political science, and sociology. Lectures at other Swedish universities and outside Sweden are encouraged. Mentoring and host-community engagement advance Fulbright’s broader goal of international understanding and cooperation.
