Description
Full ADOPT supports collaborative on-farm trials and experiments testing ideas or solutions that are new or not yet widely used. Delivered by Innovate UK in partnership with Defra through the Farming Innovation Programme, it funds industrial research addressing significant challenges or opportunities in agriculture, horticulture or agro-forestry, including immediate post-farmgate challenges.
Projects must have the potential to significantly improve productivity, resilience, or sustainability and progression towards net zero farming. They must demonstrate benefits to other English farmers, growers or foresters and share outputs during and after the project. The programme promotes practical demonstrations, peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange to increase adoption beyond participating businesses, while strengthening farmers’ skills and capabilities in innovation and research.
